CASE STUDY

Rotary Lombardi Awards Live on CBS Sports

Just weeks after Vince Lombardi’s death in 1970, the Rotary Club of Houston was authorized by Vince Lombardi’s widow, Marie, to establish the Rotary Lombardi Award, an annual event which recognizes the nation’s best NCAA Division 1 collegiate lineman and celebrates the memory of one of the NFL football’s greatest coaches.

2011 marked the 42nd year of the award with many event milestones. The award presentation format was changed to highlight all that the award supports to millions of viewers across the country through a live television broadcast on CBS Sports. The event was hosted by Spencer Tillman of CBS Sports and broadcast nationwide live from Reliant Center in Houston, Texas.

VISION Production Group was honored to produce this event with eEvents and CBS Sports to increase the Rotary Club of Houston’s footprint nationwide to help raise millions of dollars for their dedicated charities.

All net proceeds of the Rotary Lombardi Award are contributed to the American Cancer Society to help fight the disease that has claimed the lives of Vince Lombardi and so many others. Millions of dollars raised by this event help the American Cancer Society's programs of cancer research, public education, and direct services to cancer patients.
